A Carved Wood and Togidashi Inro and Netsuke, Japan, 19th Century - Three tiered inro coated in black lacquer on the sides and brown lacquer in togidashi technique (with mother-of-pearl flakes) at the centre. The netsuke depicts a dog with a collar around its neck, tilting its head to the side, its fur incised, blackened, and polished.
