A Damascene Brass and Silver Inlay, Syria, Late 19th Century - Decorated with dense engraving and silver inlay in geometric and vegetal Islamic motifs. The center features an ornate medallion surrounded by circular decorative panels and bands of Arabic calligraphy. Several medallions incorporate hexagram (Seal of Solomon) motifs among the decorative elements. The rim is decorated with a repeating ornamental border and small medallions.
