A Large Copper Ritual Washing Vessel, Israel - Of substantial form, made for synagogue use, the body engraved with the Hebrew dedication: “This was donated by Aba Cohen to the synagogue ‘Machzikei HaDat’ for the benefit of the soul of his daughter-in-law Leah.” The vessel served congregants for ritual handwashing before prayer, symbolizing purification before worship; also used by Kohanim before the priestly blessing. Height: 16 cm; diameter: 20 cm Notes: The donor, a Cohen, offered the vessel as a practical and memorial contribution to the synagogue in honor of his late daughter-in-law.
