Parts of a Gilded Silver ‘Kulah’ Headdress Ornament, Jewish Yemen, Early 20th Century - A group of decorated silver plaques that once adorned the traditional kola headdress worn by married Jewish women in the town of Saʿid, northern Yemen. They are ornamented with fine filigree, geometric engraving, and inlaid glass and glass stones in shades of red and blue. Some of the plaques feature serrated edges reminiscent of silver jewelry from India and North Africa.
