A Damascene Brass Copper and Silver Inlay Jewish Plate, Syria, Early 20th Century - Decorated in the center with three medallions bearing the portraits of the Patriarchs, above which are twelve medallions representing the Tribes of Israel, each with its symbolic motif. In the lower section, an eagle is depicted in flight, holding a fabric scroll in its beak inscribed with the Hebrew verse “And I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Me.” The rim is adorned with Arabic calligraphy and additional medallions.
