Ludwig Blum (1891-1975), Portrait of Mrs. Van der Wielen - Oil on canvas. Signed (lower left). 36 x 28 cm Provenance: Estate of the Van der Wielen family. Thence by descent to the grandfather of the present owner. Notes: Mrs. Van der Wielden was a Jewish and British born widow of a wealthy Dutch businessman and a personal acquaintance of Ludwig Blum. She was an educated woman with feminist views and appreciation for art. During the 1920's she immigrated to Palestine where she became associated with the Tel Aviv bohemian circles. This work is a portrait of her executed and gifted to her by Ludwig Blum. Condition: For a condition report, please contact office@alma.auction.
