A large and impressive silver and coral fibula- Morocco early 1900's - This impressive anthropomorphic silver  Fibula has a central component representing a turtle (turtle is believed to be a beneficial and protective creature in North Africa.) The center is set with a red glass stone with hanging coral beads. On the sides are silver chains, hammered silver spheres, coral beads and culminates with hook for attaching to a garment. On the top of the fibula there is a medallion and hook in which a faceted blue bead has been set into. A large red coral bead hangs at the upper center of the piece. The fibula is engraved, pierced and embossed by hand.
