Two silver hood plaques-Yement/Eretz Israel, first half of the 20th century - 1.  A circular disk decorated with filigree work.  2. A tear drop shape gilded hood plaque/pin with silver pendants hanging from the ends. Decorated with filigree work and set with blue stones. This item is more or less in the shape of a traditional Yemenite hood plaque but was made to be worn as a pendant or a pin. Was probably made in Eretz Israel around 1940-50. * It was only Jewish Yemenite woman who would wear these ornaments. There is no parallel among the Muslims in Yemen.  In Yemen each  plaque would have a specific name based on where it would be located on the plaque.
