antique silver horse whip - Turkmenistan- 1900's - The handle of the horse whip is made of silver ( tested.)  It is finely engraved and gilded. Set with semi precious faceted and not faceted stones including : Beryl, agate, turquoise, amethyst etc. The leather cord is attached to a separate silver element which is linked to the handle of the whip. length including leather cord: 70 cm length of silver handle: 34 cm weight: 407 grams *Horses in Turkmenistan are a sign of masculinity and high status. A whip like this would have been owned by an important tribesman.
