An enormous parcel gilt silver amuletic chest ornament (Tumar)- Turkestan, Ersari 1870-1900 - The enormous chest ornament is comprised of a chain of lozenge plaques. The central plaque is a large triangle attached to a giant compartment for a amulet/parchment. The amulet case can be opened on its side. Large carnelian stones set throughout. decorative spade like plaques attached to the amulet case. Silver bells hang from the bottom  the piece is cut, engraved, soldered and partially gilded.  weight: 850 grams length: 44 cm width ( amulet case) 27 cm
