An impressive parcel gilt ,silver Tumar necklace - Turkestan, Yomut -1900 - The ”chain” of the necklace is comprised of silver square plaques with gold plated elements soldered onto them. Faceted red glass and carnelian are set into the plaques. The Amulet case is designed with the same elements as the plaques above it. It opens up on one side in order to insert texts from the Koran. Bells dangle from the bottom.  the piece is cut, punched and soldered. length: 42 cm weight: 360 grams * items like these were treasured by the wearers due to their protective properties
