A silver and textile ceremonial headdress- Turkmenistan -1900 - 20th century. Composed of a woven fabric embroidered with silver plaques embossed in various designs on top, at the middle and the back half of the perimeter. At the front, a large organic shaped plaque inset with a flat oval carnelian followed by lozenge pendants. A central dome shaped element inset with stone and a silver rod in center followed by a rosette-shaped element with a small dome and a large ball-shaped decoration, decorated with arrowhead-shaped pendants. The dome’s perimeter is decorated with strands composed of flat elongated links inset with red stones followed by ball-shaped bell pendants alternating with silver strands with arrowhead-shaped pendants. A massive dorsal embellishment and a pair of temple embellishments decorated with embroidered triangles and rows of tassels ending with a row of tasseled strands. Multiple metal temple pendants composed of a row of 3 triangular pendants inset with stones and decorated with strands ending with lozenge pendants, dome shaped pendant inset with stones and decorated with metal strands, and silver strands with ball shaped metal  beads ending with tassels. comes with a wooden display stand.  The item is embroidered, sewn cut, pierced, gilded, soldered and hammered.  length: 110 cm gross weight: 2700 gram
