A large and impressive natural amber necklace- 18th/19th century. - The necklace is comprised of 49 hand carved butterscotch, egg shaped amber beads. The beads are of various sizes, getting larger towards the center of the necklace.  Several of the beads have chips to them.  length of necklace when closed: 47 cm weight: 139 grams  dimensions of amber beads: 10.8*14mm- 26*3 * Europeans believe amber to stop teething pains, while other cultures believe it to have protective properties.
