An old Kafkazi silver woven and beaded head piece- Kaflkaz region- 19th century - The head piece is comprised of cream color cotton and metal wire. There are hundreds of silver beads strung on the back and the sides of the head piece. Silver chain mail covers the bottom rear of the piece Silver chains hang down culminating in the 19th century Russian silver coins which hang from the sides. A central gilded silver medallion in the form of an Islamic star and crescent hangs at the back. It is decorated with filigree work and colorful stones. condition: center silver beads need to be restitched and re beaded . dimensions: 48*17cm medallion: 12*5 cm total weight: 716 grams
