A rare, valuable and sought-after first French edition, bringing together the original fascicles in this first volume of ”Capital: A Critique of Political Economy”, the only one published during the author’s lifetime and greatly enriched in this French version with corrections and previously unpublished additions, as well as the publisher’s reply printed on the verso of the reproduction of Marx’s letter included in the work, which is absent from the second French edition and subsequent printings. Publisher’s original paper wrappers, though the front cover is detached and lacks a portion at the lower edge, with losses to the spine and other minor defects to the covers.
