Besson - Original antique advertising poster for the Atom vacuum cleaner by the General Vacuum Cleaning Company / Compagnie Generale de Nettoyage par le Vide, sold at Armand Marix & Cie on 11 Rue Blanche, Paris. The poster features a great design depicting a smiling maid cleaning the carpet with the vacuum cleaner, and a startled older maid dropping the duster, looking at the machine in awe, with a child in a yellow dress in the background operating the technical marvel. Powered vacuum cleaners were invented independently by British engineer Hubert Cecil Booth and American inventor David T. Kenney in the early 1900s. Large size.
