Advertising Poster World Festival of Youth and Students Algeria 1965 - Original vintage advertising poster for IXe Festival Mondial de la Jeunesse et des Etudiants pour la Solidarite, la Paix et l'Amitie Alger 28 Julliet - 7 Aout 1965 / 9th World Festival of Youth and Students for Solidarity, Peace and Friendship Algiers 28 July - 7 August 1965, featuring an illustration of a globe in the centre and red and orange crescent-shaped petals around it forming a floral design resembling the festival logo. The World Festival of Youth and Students is an international event organised by the World Federation of Democratic Youth and the International Union of Students since 1947. The 9th Festival was initially planned to be held in Algeria in the summer of 1965, but due to the military coup in Algeria, the date was postponed, and Bulgaria became the new venue for the festival, which was then held from 28 July to 5 August 1968 in Sofia, the capital city of the then People's Republic of Bulgaria.
