Advertising Poster Bilbao Corrida Bullfight Matador Basque - Original vintage poster for the Corridas Generales / General Bullfights in Bilbao, Spain, from 21 to 25 August 1955. The poster features artwork by the celebrated Spanish illustrator Juan Reus (1912-2003), depicting a group of men performing a high-kicking traditional dance, likely a Basque folk dance, with the top featuring the official city shield of Bilbao and a prominent local landmark, possibly the church of San Anton. Below the dancers, a dark bull charges across the lower third of the illustration, while a bullfighter’s cape and sword are shown resting against a wooden barrier in the lower right. With a list of Cinco Corridas de Abono / Five Subscription Bullfights schedule with the following participants: Legendary matadors of the era include Antonio Bienvenida, Rafael Ortega, Julio Aparicio, Manolo Vazquez, Emilio Ortuno ”Jumillano”, Cesar Giron, Pedro Martinez ”Pedres”, Manuel Jimenez ”Chicuelo II”, Antonio Vazquez, and Manolo Chacarte. The bulls were sourced from prestigious ganaderia ranches such as D. Clemente Tassara, D. Atanasio Fernandez, the heirs of Pablo Romero, D. Antonio Urquijo, and D. Fermin Bohorquez.
