Advertising Poster Camden Society Alan Aldridge Psychedelic - Original vintage advertising poster for the annual bazaar for the Camden Society for Mentally Handicapped Children at Blackfriars Hall in London, featuring great psychedelic design by Alan Aldridge Ink Studios, known for books and record covers by The Beatles and The Who and for creating the original design that was used to create the Tongue and lips logo of the Rolling Stones. The design features a dense, dynamic illustration of fantastical, anthropomorphic characters with a large reindeer-like creature, a butterfly with a top-hat-wearing figure on its back, other human-like figures, a pig with a propeller nose, and a large fish at the bottom flying above an outline of a city. The expressions of the characters are exaggerated and cartoonish, rendered entirely in a single shade of purple on a pale yellow background. The Camden Society was established around the mid-1960s, growing out of a movement by families campaigning for better care and education for children with learning disabilities.
