Percussion Dueling Pistol by Wolfgang Scherrer - The octagonal, smooth bore barrel in 14 mm caliber is marked “Scherrer in Linz”, dovetailed brass front sight, tang marked with the number “2” is decorated with vine engravings like the breechblock, the percussion lock has a similar engraving. Walnut half stock, forearm with small crack, grip roughened with chequering. Steel mountings engraved. Austria, Linz around 1840, length 38 cm. Steel parts with remnants of bluing. Wolfgang Scherrer known in Linz from 1814, he died in 1848. Condition 2+
