Pair of Flintlock Officers Pistols by Nicolas Noel Boutet - Octagonal barrels in cal. 16 mm, slightly constricted in the middle with (presumably) original finish and with very fine micro-groove rifling, dovetailed blade front sights and fixed notch rear sights. Proof mark on the upper right flat, struck ”BC” maker's marks on the upper left flat, and inset ”BOUTET” maker's marks on the top and upper side flats at the breech. The bright locks have are signed ”BOUTET/A VERSAILLES” in ornate scrip and have nicely sculpted components. The locks are tripped by adjustable single set triggers. The slender full-length stocks have finely checkered wrists. The bright furniture is nicely chiseled and engraved. Wooden ramrods with bone tips. France, Versailles circa 1800, length of each 35 cm.
