Pair of naval flintlock pistols in silver mount by Royet Freres - Smooth brass barrels, octagonal at the chamber, passing through a gridle to cylindrical with swelled cannon muzzle. The octagonal part has three upper surfaces decorated with engraving of trophies and scrolls. The flintlock, plain domed brass lock plates are marked 'Royet Freres'. The silver embossed fittings with hallmarks (Lyon 1775 - 1780) are sparsely decorated with engraving, the butts embossed with semi-figures of warriors. Wooden ramrods with brass tips. France, St. Etienne circa 1780, length 34 cm each. Condition 2+
