Magnificent saber for a senior infantry officer, Bavaria - Slightly curved blade, grooved on both sides under the back, blued on both sides, gilded and etched with trophies, flowers, and the monarch's monogram “MJK” (King Maximilian Joseph I, 1806–1825). Richly decorated stirrup-shaped brass hilt gilded in fire, chiseled openwork floral decoration knuckle-bow smoothly transitions into a guard plate, wooden fluted handle covered with leather, brass back transitions into a richly decorated boat-shaped pommel. The wooden scabbard is covered with leather, and the scabbard fittings are decorated in the same manner as the hilt. Bavaria, 1st quarter of the 19th century, length 92 cm. Condition 2
