Sword for an Austro-Hungarian Mining Official - Straight double-edged nickel-plated (stained) blade with a diamond-shaped cross-section, etched on both sides at the base of the blade (floral decoration, crossed mining symbols of hammer and iron, oil lamp, and the inscription “GLÜCKAUF”). Manufacturer's mark WEYERSBERG & STAMM, SOLINGEN on the ricasso (1817-1872). Embossed brass hilt with remnants of gilding, downward-curving guard plate with crossed mining symbols, double-headed eagle, and Habsburg coat of arms on the breastplate. Spiral-fluted blackened wooden handle with brass wire winding. Scabbard without leather cover, brass fittings. Austria-Hungary, second half of the 19th century, length 86 cm. Condition 2.
