A pair of luxury flintlock pistols in silver mounts by Giesu Mutti - Two-stage, smooth blued barrel, octagonal then round after a double chiselled girdle, in 15 mm calibre, stamped with the mark ”GIU/MUTTI” in gold under three lilies and a crown, with a galloping horse below this mark. Flat, smooth flintlock, signature ”BERTARELLI” on the edge of the cock rim. Full lightly carved walnut stocks with solid silver fittings decorated with embossed hunting scenes, wooden ramrods with a horn tips. Italy, 2nd half of the 18th century, length of both 48 cm. Giesu Mutti mentioned in Gardone Val Trompia near Brescia in 1750-1792 (Heer der Neue Stockel p. 848).
