A Mantel Clock with Automaton and Painting by C. L. Hoffmeister - Blackened wooden clock case, with a semi-circular, stepped base at the bottom, on which rests a prismatic clock case with pilasters. Gilded brass and wood applications. In the lower part, on a copper plate, a painted depiction of a landscape with a watermill, signed and dated “C L Hofmeister Wien 1825”. Automaton with mill wheel and flowing water. Brass dial with Roman numerals, gilt bezel. Brass spring movement with quarter-hour strike on gongs. Carl Ludwig Hoffmeister (* 1790 Vienna - †1843 ibid.). Vienna 1825, dimensions 42 x 70 x 18 cm. The pendulum is missing. No guarantee of working order, inspection by a clockmaker required.
