Gift Sabre in Silver Plated Mounting in Leather Case - Narrow, slightly curved older blade from the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th century, fullered on both sides and with etched decoration in the upper part, silver plated hilt decorated with filigree and engraved. Cross guard, the shape of which is derived from Turkish sabres (shamshir). It is set with Bohemian garnets and silver cabochons (polished pyrite?) on the front. The wooden scabbard is covered with black velvet, the silver plated fittings are decorated identically to those of the hilt. Two loose suspension rings. In a leather case lined with black velvet and covered with silk on top, with silver spurs. Austro-Hungarian hallmarks 750/1000, probably Pest. Austria-Hungary, last quarter of the 19th century, length 100 cm. Condition 2+
