Savoy Infantry Sabre for Soldiers and Non-Commissioned Officers, Model 1775 - A wide, slightly curved single-edged blade with a broad double-sided fuller and a back edge. The obverse side bears the inscription ”VIVE LE ROY DE SARDAGNE,” and the reverse side features ornamental decoration and an eagle with the Savoy cross beneath a royal crown. Brass stirrup hilt with side bar, the grip covered in leather and wrapped with brass wire. Leather scabbard, brass ferrule with a suspension ring. Sardinia, after 1775, length 74 cm. Condition 2+
