Bidspirit auction | A Sporting Crossbow and Cranequin

A Sporting Crossbow and Cranequin - Haevy steel bow, old burled hemp string and cord lashing. Lanyard and decorative tassels. A fruitwood tiller entirely covered with bone. Figural scenes are depicted on the sides of the tiller. On the front left are the year 1547 and some letters. The underside features the year 1602 (date of repair) engraved on the front, along with a floral design. Bone nut and curved steel trigger-lever. Probably German, 1547, length 70 cm. Cranequin consisted of a toothed rack, a drive mechanism, and a crank with a handle made of bone and wood. A fixed hook is forged onto the rack, and a movable hook is attached to the drive mechanism. Richly decorated, openwork, and etched. Gilded mascarons. Probably German, 16th century, length 38 cm. Unless the item is sold at auction for at least 13,500 euros, it may not be released without the owner's consent. Condition 2+
