French Boulle Table Clock by Gribelin A Paris - An important Louis XIV ormolu bronze mounted Boulle brass inlaid red tortoiseshell bracket clock crowned with gilded bronze sculpture of peasant, signed on the white enamel cartouche ”Gribelin à Paris”. The circular elaborately cast gilded brass dial with black Roman numerals on white enamel cartouches and a fine pair of pierced blued steel hands for the hours and minutes. The two train movement (originally verge, later converted to Brocot anchor), striking the hours and half-hours on a single bell (hammer missing). Nicolas Gribelin (Blois 1637-Paris 1715).
