Wine jug in neo-Renaissance style. Germany, 19th century - An exquisite wine jug in neo-Renaissance style, made in Germany in the second half of the 19th century. The jug is made of transparent engraved glass with ornamental motifs in the form of two swans surrounded by a floral pattern, which creates a lace effect. The vessel is enclosed in a silver rim with voluminous floral festoons. The base is designed as a lace four-leaf pedestal. The neck is decorated with a high collar with rocaille motifs and acanthus leaves. The open handle connects to a hinged spout lid, which is activated by a pull on the handle. This work reflects the elegance and craftsmanship of silversmiths in Germany in the 19th century.
