SILVER LADLE WITH OPENWORK BACK IN THE FORM OF A KOKOSHNIK RUSSIA, EARLY 20TH CENTURY - A silver ladle executed in the expressive style of Russian Art Nouveau, distinguished by the fluid plasticity of its lines and a decorative handle of complex silhouette. The asymmetrical body, elegant curvature of the walls, and open junction of the handle emphasize the piece’s belonging to the fine artistic silverwork of the early 20th century. The interior is partially gilded, giving the ladle a festive and ceremonial appearance. The high openwork back is designed in the form of a stylised kokoshnik, adorned with a raised vegetal ornament and a smooth central medallion intended for engraving. Hallmarks: Circular mark of the Moscow District Assay Office. Oval hallmark with a woman’s head facing right, the number “84”, and the letter “A”, corresponding to the Moscow assay period of 1908–1917. Denotes 84 zolotnik silver. Material: Silver, partial gilding. Dimensions: Height: 11 cm. Diameter: 7.5 cm. Weight: 151 g. Condition: Good. Even gilding with light patina. No losses, cracks, or deformations.
