PENGUIN-SHAPED DECANTER WITH MUSIC BOX. JAPAN. 1960s - A whimsical Art Deco-style decanter shaped as a penguin. Made of stainless steel, plastic, and glass with decorative golden veining. The streamlined form reflects the influence of American modernist design. The penguins head is removable, revealing a chromed stopper. Accompanied by three cork stoppers, each adorned with a miniature penguin figure. The decanter features a built-in wind-up music box at the base, which plays the melody How Dry I Am — a humorous ode to abstinence. Made in Japan for the American export market during the 1960s.
