SILVER SALT THRONE WITH OPENWORK BACK RUSSIA, LATE 19TH CENTURY - A rare silver salt cellar in the form of a throne, with a tall, intricately pierced back executed in chisel technique. The composition combines geometric and vegetal motifs characteristic of the Moscow Neo-Russian style of the late 19th century. The upper part of the back is decorated with a complex openwork pattern centered around a solar emblem, symbolizing prosperity and well-being. The trapezoidal body features profiled edges and a geometric border. The interior is richly gilt, giving the piece a festive appearance while protecting the silver from salt corrosion. Hallmarks: Maker’s mark “МР”; assay mark “84” with Moscow city emblem, corresponding to the 84 silver standard. Dimensions: Height: 8.5 cm. Width: 7.5 cm. Weight: 75.4 g. Condition: Good.
