RUSSIAN SILVER SUGAR BOWL IN CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL RUSSIA, MOSCOW, 1896-1908 - A silver egg-shaped sugar bowl raised on elegant leaf-shaped feet, fitted with a movable handle decorated with enamel ornament. The body is covered with an elaborate cloisonné enamel composition featuring a polychrome vegetal design arranged in rhythmic arched vertical panels rising from the base toward the rim. The palette includes rich tones of cobalt, azure, turquoise, white, and red set against a gilded ground of filigree and granulation. The upper rim is accented with a band of light blue enamel dots, emphasizing the completeness of the silhouette. The interior is gilded, creating a refined contrast with the multicolored enamel exterior and enhancing the decorative effect. The compositional structure and virtuoso execution attest to the high level of the Moscow jewelry school at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, oriented toward the revival of national artistic traditions in the spirit of the Russian Style.
