Rare Late 19th Century Viennese Enamel & Silver Nautilus Shell Vessel - An extremely rare nautilus shell-shaped vessel, crafted from silver with exquisite Austrian enamel work. Produced in Vienna in the late 19th century, likely circa 1880, this is an important and breathtakingly high-quality item. The piece features finely detailed mythological scenes and a sculptural figure of Pan holding two fish in his hands, bearing the ”shell” upon his shoulders. It is hallmarked in several places with Austrian silver marks, alongside a partial but legible signature of the maker, Simon Grünwald—a master silversmith active in Vienna whose creations are considered among the most important and luxurious produced during this era.
