She'erit Hapleitah (Surviving Remnant) Badge / Emblem – Bergen-Belsen Displaced Persons Camp - Holocaust / DP Camps / Zionist History: An exceptionally rare copper emblem/badge issued by the Jewish National Fund (KKL/JNF) and awarded to Holocaust survivors at the Bergen-Belsen Displaced Persons (DP) camp prior to their clandestine immigration (Aliyah Bet) to Mandatory Palestine, 1947. The central medallion depicts a powerful relief of a prisoner's hands bursting out of iron shackles toward a rising sun over the sea, inscribed in Hebrew ”Exodus from Germany” (Yetsiat Germania) and ”KKL”. The outer rim is inscribed ”BELSEN-PALESTINE”, ”GRAND NATIONAL”, and dated ”5707 / 1947”. Stamped on the reverse with the German manufacturer's hallmark L&W Hannover. Dimensions: Diameter: 3 cm.
