RUSSIAN PAINTING CALVARY BY VLADIMIR VITKOVSKY
Vladimir Vitkovsky, Russian, born 1950, oil on canvas painting depicting a Calvary scene from the Passion of Jesus. Signed lower left. Signed and dated 1989 on verso. Framed. Vladimir Vitkovsky studied art at three prestigious St. Petersburg Art Schools, learning techniques from various Russian teachers before experimenting on his own. In 1989, he began to show his work in the United States and Europe. Vitkovsky received first place at the Boston Copley Association of Artists yearly competition.
