RUSSIAN EMPIRE NICHOLAS II 1900 5 RUBLE GOLD COIN
An antique Russian gold five rubles coin, 1900, the reign of emperor Nicholas II, 1868 to 1918. Featuring Nicholas II head left and inscription in Russian around the rim: WITH THE MERCY OF GOD NICHOLAS II THE EMPEROR AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIA, on the obverse and crowned double-headed imperial eagle with ribbons on crown on the obverse. The denomination and the year of the coin is minted in the bottom: 5 roubles, 1900. Well preserved coin with good detail. Nicholas II or Nikolai II Alexandrovich Romanov, known in the Russian Orthodox Church as Saint Nicholas the Passion-Bearer, was the last Emperor of Russia, King of Congress Poland and Grand Duke of Finland, ruling from 1 November 1894 until his abdication on 15 March 1917.
