VICTORIAN ERA PONTIUS PILATE NEEDLEPOINT TAPESTRY
A very fine antique handcrafted needlepoint tapestry embroidered with petit beads and depicting Pontius Pilatus washing his hands with Jesus Christ carrying the cross in the background, after the painting by Matthias Stomer, Dutch, c. 1600 - after 1652. Very decorative and highly detailed. Presumably Belgian, circa 1870. Antique Textile For Home Decor, Tapestries And Wall Hangings For Collectors.
