Joseph Goss Cowell, American, 1886 to 1968, oil on canvas depicting a boxer in fighting pose, signed lower left: J. G.Cowell. Housed in a gilt wood and gesso frame. Joseph Goss Cowell was a mural painter, sculptor, designer of stained glass windows and art educator.
