GROUP OF THREE RUSSIAN SILVER TRAVEL ICONS
A lot of three antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icons. Vladimir Mother of God, Kazan Mother of God, Christ in Majesty. Travel icons of miniature size. Mixed media paintings: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Each icon is enclosed in silver rizas or oklads with repousse decor. The icons of Virgin Mary are titled in Church Slavonic underneath. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers marks are on the sides of the oklads. The backside of the icons is covered with pink velvet. Russian Christian Religious Items and Collectibles.
