An antique Italian Grand Tour black patinated bronze sculpture of Caesar Augustus. Circa: late 19th century. Mounted on an Alabaster stone pedestal. Unsigned. Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus born Gaius Octavius, 63 BC to AD 14, also known as Octavian Octavianus, was the founder of the Roman Empire; he reigned as the first Roman emperor from 27 BC until his death in AD 14.
