A contemporary oil on canvas painting by Mohamed Melehi, Moroccan, 1936 to 2020. The painting depicts a very vibrant abstract composition with a wave motif interfering with a rigid geometric shape intersected by stripes. Signed MELEHI and dated 2007 on the verso. Mohammed Melehi is considered as one of the most important artists in the country. A painter, photographer, muralist and designer as well as a teacher and cultural activist, he was a leading figure in the radical Casablanca Art School and a formative leader in the artistic and cultural development of post colonial Morocco.
