PERSIAN SURATGARI PAINTING IN MARQUETRY KHATAM FRAME
A miniature vintage Persian Suratgari watercolor painting on natural material panel depicting a dance scene in a courtyard. The painting is finished with a Khatam frame inlaid marquetry of floral and foliage designs in red, blue, green and red shades, and gold trim. Circa: the early to Mid 20th century. Suratgari paintings have their origins in the Persian Timurid Dynasty 1369 to 1500 where a national style of miniature painting was created.
