Boris Nilovich Litvinov, 1872 to 1948, tempera and wash on paper painting depicting a WWI battle scene titled Battle on the Legendary Mountain Skaloi, in Burning Woods, 1914. Signed lower left, inscribed 11th Division Burning. Matted and framed. Boris Litvinov was a Major General of the Russian Imperial Guard and a renowned orientalist.
