ANTIQUE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ICON OF CHRIST ALMIGHTY
An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon representing Jesus Christ in Pantocrator iconography, also known as Lord Almighty. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gold leaf, gesso, and levkas on a wood board with raised kovcheg borders. According to the canon, Jesus holds the Gospel in his left hand, while his right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing. Inscriptions in Church Slavonic. Christian Orthodox Icons, Religious Items And Collectibles.
