A vintage Italian pietra dura picture showcasing a meticulously crafted horse design after the famous original painting Blue Horse I by Franz Marc executed in 1911. This particular piece features a lifelike portrayal of a horse, capturing its grace and beauty with incredible detail. The stones used in the inlay work create a vibrant and colorful depiction, adding depth and dimension to the composition. Framed. Circa the mid 20th century. Franz Moritz Wilhelm Marc, 1880 to 1916, was a German painter and printmaker, one of the key figures of German Expressionism. He was a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), a journal whose name later became synonymous with the circle of artists collaborating in it.
