1948 LTD PABLO PICASSO MADOURA POTTERY CERAMIC PLATE
An original limited edition ceramic plate, Assiette, from the Visage Noir Service, 1948, by Galerie Madoura Pottery, a workshop in Vallauris, France. The pottery is well known for its exclusive Picasso Editions produced in collaboration with Pablo Picasso, 1881 to 1973, a prominent Spanish Modernist artist. Marked with an impressed stamp, Madoura, Edition Picasso, and numbered 10 out of 50, on the backside. Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and theatre designer who spent most of his adult life in France. Regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore.
