ENGLISH HAND PAINTED ENGRAVING AFTER WILLIAM CRAIG - A hand colored engraving on paper, Part of The Principal Canal, and The Grand Church of St. Mark, at Venice after William Marshall Craig, English, 1765 to 1827. Engraved by J. B. Neagle. Marked in the print, lower right and left. Titled in the print, lower to the center. William Marshall Craig was an English painter who exhibited at times at the Royal Academy, from 1788 until 1827. Craig first lived at Manchester, but settled in London about 1791. He was painter in water-colours to the Queen, and miniature painter to the Duke and Duchess of York. He also excelled as a draughtsman on wood, and as a book illustrator.
